Who we are
LapseGuard (the app and this website, lapseguard.app) is operated by Adam Duchemann, an independent developer based in Lisbon, Portugal. Full details are on the Imprint page. By using the app or the site you agree to these terms.
What LapseGuard is, and is not
LapseGuard is a reminder tool. It keeps the expiry and renewal dates you enter and notifies you ahead of them. It is a convenience, not a substitute for the underlying obligation: reminders depend on the dates you enter, on your device delivering notifications, and on settings you control. You remain responsible for your actual deadlines, renewals, payments, and legal obligations. Preset intervals and typical prices in the country packs are good-faith defaults, not legal, financial, or administrative advice; always check the date printed on your own document or contract.
Your data
Everything you put into the app is stored locally on your device and belongs to you. How we handle data (in short: we do not) is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Free tier and LapseGuard Pro
The free tier includes up to 10 tracked items, all presets, and default reminders, with no time limit. LapseGuard Pro is optional and unlocks the additional features described on the pricing section of the homepage. Pro is sold through Apple's App Store either as an auto-renewing yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase:
- Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy; we cannot issue them ourselves. EU consumers keep their statutory rights.
- Prices are shown in euros on this site; your App Store price is in your local currency. Family Sharing is supported and you can restore a purchase on a new device at any time.
Acceptable use
Use the app and the site as intended. Do not attempt to break, reverse engineer, or resell them, and do not use the site's content in ways that misrepresent LapseGuard.
Intellectual property
The app, the site, and their content (name, design, text, graphics) belong to the operator. The items and photos you add in the app are yours and stay on your device.
No warranty, limited liability
The app and the site are provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for losses caused by a missed deadline, including where a notification was not delivered or an entered date was wrong. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or the mandatory rights you hold as a consumer.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters (for example when new features ship), the update will be visible on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protections of the law of your country of residence.
