Disney+ renews automatically on your billing date, the same date each month for a monthly plan or each year for an annual plan, and it keeps charging until you cancel. Where you check that exact date depends on where you subscribed: if Disney bills you directly, it is on your Disney+ account; if you signed up through Apple, Google, Amazon or a mobile or TV operator, the date lives with that store or provider instead. This guide shows the fastest way to find it, and what happens when the payment runs, fails, or you cancel.
Check your exact renewal date
If Disney+ bills you directly, open Account settings on DisneyPlus.com (also reachable from your profile in the app) and look under Your Plans & Billing. Disney’s help center says you can view your plan type, subscription renewal date, and billing details there. One thing you cannot do from this screen is move the date. To change the day you are billed, Disney has you cancel and then re-subscribe on the day you want, which becomes your new renewal date.
Billed through Apple, Google, Amazon or an operator: where the date lives
If you subscribed inside another company’s store, that company holds the billing, so the renewal date shows there, not on your Disney+ account. Disney’s help center points store-billed subscribers to each partner:
- Apple: open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. (Apple no longer sells new Disney+ subscriptions, but subscriptions already billed by Apple keep renewing through Apple.)
- Google: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Amazon: check Memberships & Subscriptions in your Amazon account. Some newer Disney+ sign-ups on Amazon Fire TV are billed directly by Disney, so if you do not see it under Amazon, check your Disney+ account.
- A mobile or TV operator: the date is on the provider’s own bill or account page.
Not sure who bills you? Your Disney+ account settings name the billing partner, even when they cannot show the date itself.
Annual vs monthly plans
Both plans auto-renew; only the cadence differs. A monthly plan renews on the same date each month. An annual plan renews once a year on its anniversary, so the charge is easy to forget in the eleven months between renewals, which is exactly when an annual plan tends to catch people. Switching between monthly and annual, or between tiers, can shift the effective date: Disney applies an upgrade immediately and prorated, and a downgrade on your next billing date.
Renew, fail, or cancel
Three things can happen at your billing date.
- Renew: the payment goes through and access continues without interruption.
- Fail: if the card is declined or expired, Disney flags the payment and asks you to update your payment method, and until a valid method is on file access can be interrupted. Updating the card in Account settings is the fix.
- Cancel: you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Disney’s own wording is that you continue to have access until the end of your current subscription term, with the timing depending on whether you were billed monthly or annually. That end date is your real expiry date, the day access actually stops.

FAQ
Does Disney+ auto-renew? Yes. Monthly and annual plans both renew automatically on your billing date unless you cancel first.
When exactly does Disney+ charge me? On your renewal date: the same day each month for a monthly plan, or the same date each year for an annual plan. Find the exact date in Account settings if Disney bills you, or in the store or with the operator if you subscribed through one.
Where do I see my next billing date? In your Disney+ Account settings, under Your Plans & Billing, when Disney bills you directly. If you subscribed through Apple, Google, Amazon or a carrier, the date is on that partner’s subscription page.
Can I change my Disney+ renewal date? Not directly. Disney has you cancel and then re-subscribe on the date you want to be billed, which sets a new renewal date.
If I cancel, do I lose access right away? No. You keep Disney+ until the end of the period you already paid for. That end date is when access stops.
